Harpenden's #1 Architect

What do you do to promote your business when you've already created a #1 ranking website? Howard Pease's headstrong website illustrates how you push ahead, go further and put yourself out of the competition's reach.

We designed and built Howard Pease's first website back in 2009 - a 3-in-1 website that quickly quickly secured its #1 Google ranking. Our blend of bespoke code and creative domain name use meant that Howard was able to promote the 2 facets of his business alongside a hobby portfolio: residential architecture; architectural illustration; artistic portraiture.

Searching out more business

In the 5 years Howard's first website was live the Harpenden property market had picked-up and the website was finding more architecture projects and the desire to promote architectural illustration lessened. In 2015 Howard launched his second website for Harpenden, web design had now become the prime shop window to showcase his comprehensive design portfolio of home extensions, new build homes and conservation area residential developments.

The essence of architecture

The first website had established Howard's presence in the marketplace and the second website needed to lead the marketplace. Space | Light | Flow

Design architecture's complex so it was imperative for us to make the Architect's message both simple and strong. Architects develop residential properties to make more space, that's obvious; but what we realised is that Howard's work often features clever channeling of daylight to brighten interiors. Furthermore, when looking at Howard's design schemes a considerable amount of effort went into designing modern, seamlessly-open living areas. Taking those three design characteristics we proposed the use of the 3 words Space | Light | Flow to express what and investment in Howard's work delivers.

Website deliverables

The greater use of website copy has strengthened Howard's #1 Google rank and the use of the Space | Light | Flow concept genuinely communicates to website visitors, such that Howard now routinely hears his prospects and clients use these words to describe the quality of life their design project needs to achieve.
